Frequently asked questions

A few of the things artists ask us most often. Have another question? We’re always happy to answer it personally.

A question mark, illustrating frequently asked questions.
Will my insurance cover the treatment?

The medical services are covered by the basic insurance in Switzerland. Keep in mind your deductible (Franchise), and don’t hesitate to ask us if you have any questions or concerns. Alexander Technique is covered by most complementary health insurances, for details regarding your coverage, contact your insurer or check your contract. If you have any further questions, we will be pleased to answer them promptly for you.

Can I visit you if I don’t have a specific problem?

Sometimes it’s difficult to pinpoint exactly what’s wrong. Perhaps you don’t identify any particular recurring pain or problem area, but you feel generally unwell or under high stress. We place a particular emphasis on working with you to identify the key factors in your challenges or goals, and then creating a plan to accompany you. So yes, you can visit us even if you don’t know exactly what you need help with. Equally important to us is creating and maintaining a safe space, so whatever you share with us remains strictly confidential.

I’ve tried everything and nothing works. Why will your treatment work?

We have a unique perspective, as a highly skilled medical-complementary medicine team who studied classical music at the conservatory and university. Understanding the specific challenges artists face and how to overcome them is one big part of our work. We combine it with our individual expertise in our fields, and our vibrant collaboration together as a team and with you, our patient. All of this allows us to provide unparalleled treatment that will truly offer you the chance to change and move forward.

How often will I have to come?

Our goal is to treat you until you feel confidently well. This means the treatment can be adjusted to each individual, and it can be as short or as long as you desire and need to feel supported and recover. We have a variety of treatment options on offer that are able to meet a variety of needs in terms of visit frequency and total number of visits.

What kinds and levels of performing artists can visit?

We specialize in working, professional performing artists. However, we also have plenty of experience in dealing with young budding artists as well as students in the performing arts. Your child is welcome at our practice, and if you are a student growing into a professional performing artist, you are also welcome. Regarding the types of performing artists, any performing artist is welcome, be it ballerina, musician, opera singer, actor, circus performer and more!
